Frank¹s porcine quest is hindered by the interventions of a no-hands cup flipper and a sly journalist, and by the fact that Figurski's on acid. FIGURSKI AT FINDHORN ON ACID is a hypertext, a collection of interactive, interlinked documents through which readers create their own routes and connections between characters, objects, times and places. FIGURSKI AT FINDHORN ON ACID allows for many possible plots and outcomes and each reading is potentially unique. Holeton's hypertext belongs in the tradition of screwball comedy, but it raises that tradition to the level of metaphysics-a cross between Borges and the Marx Brothers.--Michael Tratner, Bryn Mawr College Holeton will give a reading of FIGURSKI AT FINDHORN ON ACID on Friday, 14 September 2001, at Stanford University. This event is hosted by Academic Computing and Stanford University Libraries, in association with eNarrative 3, an Eastgate-sponsored conference in San Francisco on Sept 15-16 (http://www.eNarrative.org ).For more information about the reading, contact Diane Greco: dgreco@eastgate.com Figurski at Findhorn on Acid by Richard Holeton Eastgate Systems ISBN 1-884511-40-6 (CD for Windows and Macintosh) $25.00 http://www.eastgate.com http://www.eastgate.com/catalog/Figurski.html Richard Holeton is Head of Residential Computing at Stanford University where he formerly taught writing for eleven years while also conducting research in student computer-mediated communication. He is the author of several writing textbooks, including the anthology _Composing Cyberspace: Identity, Community, and Knowledge in the Electronic Age_ (McGraw-Hill, 1998). His fiction has appeared in _Black Ice_, _Five Fingers Review_, and other literary journals. Eastgate Systems is the premier publisher of hypertext and hypermedia in the United States. FIGURSKI AT FINDHORN ON ACID joins more than 35 original hypertexts in Eastgate's distinguished catalog of original hypertext fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Eastgate's hypertexts are taught in universities and colleges worldwide, and have delighted a generation of pioneering readers. http://www.eastgate.com - ------------------------------------------------- The Hypertext Kitchen serves fresh hypertext news, daily. http://www.hypertextKitchen.com/ - ------------------------------------------------- Diane Greco dgreco@eastgate.com Eastgate Systems, Inc. voice: +1(617) 924-9044 134 Main St Watertown MA 02472 USA fax: +1(617) 924-9051 - --------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Sep 2001 23:15:24 -0700 (PDT) From: Aleksandar Gubas <eurindie@yahoo.com> Subject: Scene Strike Five ______ _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ __ _____ ______ _) _Y _Y _Y _Y _Y _Y__Y_ _Y (_ \_ |_\_ | \_ l_\_ l_\_ | \_ `-\_ / | \_ | _/ | l | | | | | | |--, | / | | | l__ l_____l__|2Fl__| l_____l__ l_/l_____l__| | `--' `--' `--' presents:: S C E N E S T R I K E F I V E - W A R M I N G U P ! It was established in 1994 by Sandra Ceballos and Ezequiel Suarez in their apartment in the Vedado section of Havana. Now operated by Ceballos and Rene Quintana, El Espacio Agluntinador has been an important focal point for the creation and maintenance of independent culture in Cuba. Since 1994, the gallery has hosted over 30 solo shows and four group exhibitions for artists from the island, as well as from Europe and the United States. The gallery has published numerous catalogues and provided a venue for several literary artists as well. El Espacio Aglutinador has an email address but as of now, no direct access to the world wide web. The gallery directors want to develop means of familiarizing Cuban artists on the island with new technologies and seek support from the international artists community in order to do so. Starting today, information about the gallery and its history is available at the following URL: www.thing.net/~cocofusco/espacioag.html El Espacio Agluntinador es la galeria independiente más antigua de Cuba que es manejado por artistas. [Under the URL named above you'll find my sociological thesis about the so called Virtual Party Convention of Alliance 90/The Greens Baden- Wurttemberg.
