<nettime> Re: Lori Emerson: What's Wrong With the Internet and How

How would you propose then to develop a protocol alternatively?

Also, if interoperability is not a design aesthetic, then why connect
to a network at all? To hear? Observe?

I hear you on the relationship of power and stratification, but there
has to be an exchange or signaling component between endpoints if
network communication is desired. Even in a loss-less network like
Infiniiband, you still have to maintain some degree of error correction
and signaling code to indicate back-pressure on the sender. Congestion
   control and avoidance.

Again, speaking strictly to the design features of network
   communications over computer networks.
