[Nettime-nl] Seeking Course Assistant for Piet Zwart Institute Fine Art programme

[Fwd:]

The MA Fine Art programme of the Piet Zwart Institute is looking for
a new Course Assistant. If you are interested, please send a cover
letter and resume to the e-mail address below. Please do not hesitate
to forward this message to interested parties.

The MA Fine Art of the Piet Zwart Institute is an international
postgraduate course for a select group of young artists, and
organizes public activities such as exhibitions, lectures and
publications in addition to the curricular programme. More
information about the programme can be found on our website:
http://pzwart.wdka.hro.nl/fama .

The tasks of the Course Assistant concern the organizational and
logistic aspects of the programme: s/he updates the online calendar of
programme activities; plans studio visits, group critiques and project
seminars; organizes excursions; and arranges travel and accommodation
for (guest) tutors. S/he assists in the production of publications and
in the organisation of projects and public activities. S/he coordinates
practical workshops such as the programme's introduction in September
(introductory visits to the Willem de Kooning Academy workshops and to
significant cultural institutions of the city) and the annual workshop
"Professional Skills" organized by Kunstenaars & Co. S/he prepares and
plans meetings for the application rounds and provides information to
potential and accepted students. S/he updates our database, maintains
the programme archive and takes care of mailings; and s/he organizes the
annual Open House in April. In general, she assists the Course Director
in any tasks at hand.

We are looking for someone who has knowledge of the field of
contemporary art and has experience in the practical organization of
projects or exhibitions, including publicity and promotion. Someone who
likes to work in social environments, can work independently and
efficiently under time pressure, is very organized, is good at planning
ahead but can also act spontaneously on urgent tasks. Fluent
Dutch and English is required, as well as good knowledge of basic
computer programs.

We offer a dynamic and inspiring work environment in which to gain
insight into the international art scene, the field of art education,
and the larger domain of contemporary cultural discourse. The Course
Assistant works closely and on a daily basis with the art students
and the staff members of the Piet Zwart Institute, which include
practitioners from a variety of fields within contemporary culture. S/he
reports directly to the Course Director.

The job is a part-time position of approximately 2-3 days, paid
according to level 8 of the "Onderwijs-CAO". We are looking for
someone who could begin on April 1, 2008.
