1. 6/1 WindClock Design Circle #1

As part of the Time Inventors' Kabinet, we are introducing a continuing workshop series to make wind clocks. October last year on the island of Korcula, we developed a prototype and assembly kit. In this first session we blow the dust from the clocks and try to get one step further towards the idea of making an easy to assemble WindClock kit.

2. 17/1 Art's Birthday and PD Patching Circle

circle 14h to 18h at OKNO
concert 18h - 20h

In the afternoon on Art's Birthday, we provide the opportunity to come and prepare together instruments and tools for the connected performance in the evening. In Brussels, we invited as a special guest Jack [rybn.org], together with other friends, to build a full audiovisual stream, using Gem and Pidip libraries as well as other tools (webcam, instruments, microphones, etc... ). In Praha, Gívan Belá will invite some friends to process, redirect, connect, crash and reconnect the data in realtime. A present is a present, and surprises are the best, long live Art!
If you use PD yourself and feel adventurous, come and participate at Okno's. Or else we can try to catch you at home [oggcast~ - pdp_netsend - pdp_theonice~ - pdgst - GStreamer - Webcamstudio - other - ...].
Just contact us for the stream/synchronisation modalities ...

Both for rehearsals and retransmissions, the streams will be available on http://stream.okno.be:8080
Please send a short e-mail to ol[at]okno.be to confirm your participation, so we can prepare properly.

3. 17/1 - 23/1 OKNO@Burning Ice Festival

17h to 20h at Kaaitheater

Six tents and a car together form a temporary zone for social and economic change. A group of artists have been invited by Radical_Hope to set up this out-of-the-ordinary “camp”. A week-long process of action aims to generate ideas about new ways of organizing work, urban food production, alternative energy management, innovative financing schemes and so on.
OKNO participates a week long with an OpenGreen installation. We set up an exchange -gift economy- corner, where people can discuss on topics as sustainable city development and the art of transition. The aim is to find inventive hacks for the regular market economy, and by small and constructive interventions turn everyday life into new and unexpected experiences.
Visit us in the OpenGreen Corner every day between 5pm and 8pm, or on appointment. Mail to annemie/at/okno.be

4. 24/1 - 29/1 TIK Network and Programming Workshop

As part of the international TIK programme, the long-awaited WindTime internet protocol will be finalized. This is the cornerstone of where and how to connect the experimental WindClocks with, to create a new time as a basis for further developments in sonification and visualization. Erwan Queffelec has been working on the protocol and will present it, while Geraldo Kogler is making front-end tools to make WindTime more concrete.

5. 30/1 Pure Data Patching Circle

14h -18h at OKNO

Thomas Turine will come and discuss some conceptual and critical views. Come with your projects and ideas ! We'll discuss music and interaction.

He is a young talented Belgian composer, who explored as diverse musical territories from electronic acid to compositions for contemporary orchestra. In between he played with jazz rock, fusing traditional world music melodies with modern influences and classical instruments, mixing sound recordings and electro punk, in an imaginative and sensitive style. As of today, his music has become a genuine sculpting with sound in motion, with a strong consideration for the surroundings and the investigation of sound spaces, as much composing with acoustic instruments as electroacoustic devices.
Currently he is composing for dance pieces, choreographies, theatre, and interactive spatial installations. He is using Pure Data in his work and teaching, e.g. lately in Paris (Louis Lumière) in a masterclass electroacoustic music.

As usual, these are free events.
Bring your laptops, headphones and projects.
Please send a short e-mail to ol[at]okno.be to confirm your participation, so we can prepare properly.

Pure Data Patching Circles Brussels are supported by the Ministery of Culture of French Community of Belgium, Digital Art.

5. 30/1 Pure Data Patching Circle

1. 6/1 WindClock Design Circle #1

3. 17/1 - 23/1 OKNO@Burning Ice Festival

4. 24/1 - 29/1 TIK Network and Programming Workshop

5. 30/1 Pure Data Patching Circle

2. 17/1 Art's Birthday meets PD Patching Circle

circle 14u -18u te OKNO
concert 18u - 20u

3. 17/1 - 23/1 OKNO@Burning Ice Festival

Mail annemie /at/ okno.be

4. 24/1 - 29/1 TIK Network and Programming Workshop

5. 30/1 Pure Data Patching Circle
