[Nettime-bold] On the limits of the freedom of the press


I generally believe in the freedom of the press. Therefore from my 
perspective - the Pentagon's plan to severely limit the press 
reporting from the "new war" would be the first victory for the 
Taliban over the American way of life.

On the other hand, if the following is true - that the CNN used the 
footage of Palestinians celebrating the invasion of Kuwait in 1991 to 
portray them celebrating the attack on the WTC a week ago - then, 
perhaps, such blatantly abusive reporting should be curtailed.
